Drag Queen at Public School Draws Investigation: Willis ISD Asked For Documents

Austin, Texas – After community outrage and the appearance of deception by Willis Independent School District (ISD) and school administrators concerning an appearance of a Drag Queen during a high school class; Texas Values has submitted a Public Information Act request. This request must be answered within 10 days, and is seeking the legal name of the drag queen who goes by the stage name “Lynn Adonis” as well as records from the visitors log the day of his appearance. Willis ISD has until Nov. 27th to respond. The public has expressed concern about how the appearance of the drag queen at a public school was handled. A meeting on November 11, 2019 drew a packed room of frustrated and concerned parents and citizens.

Some citizens have expressed concerns when Willis ISD staff posted on social media about the appearance of the Drag Queen but used his “stage name.” Willis ISD seemed to go into to protective mode when people starting asking for the Drag Queen’s real name as other incidents have happened in Texas where it was later discovered that a two Drag Queens were registered sex offenders, after they made appearances with children at a public library. Additionally, a Drag Queen reader in Austin has a prior sexual conviction for prostitution.

Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values said: “Parents have a right to know who their children are exposed to while on school grounds. Why is Willis ISD putting drag queen politics above parents?”
