Thank you for preserving and advancing faith, family, and freedom through your support of Texas Values. In addition to supporting Texas Values with a check or credit card, there are other ways to enhance your giving that could stretch your gift by giving with “whole dollars” from non-traditional assets.
Stock or Mutual Fund Giving
Donating appreciated securities you’ve owned for at least a year, including stock and mutual funds, can be a tax-effective way to make a gift to Texas Values. Giving from your checking account is using after-tax dollars, while giving appreciated securities allows you to give with “whole dollars.” Texas Values, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, can sell and not pay the long-term capital gains tax on your gifted securities. These gifts allow supporters to avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated stock and receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value when donated.

Giving to Texas Values through a charitable gift annuity, will, trust, or other financial instrument is another way for you to have a substantial impact for the Texas Values mission to protect life, marriage and family, and religious freedom for generations to come.
Some enhanced ways to give to Texas Values could include:
- Using your Donor Advised Fund
- Setting up a charitable gift annuity
- Taking advantage of your employer’s matching charitable giving programs
- Name us in your will, trust, or as a beneficiary
- Since traditional retirement plans like an IRAs are fully taxable to the beneficiaries, this could be the smartest way to gift pretax assets to Texas Values
Retirement Account Giving
Instead of taking your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your retirement accounts and having to pay ordinary income tax on these amounts, please consider sending your RMDs to Texas Values. You would NOT have to recognize the earned, taxable income. Many taxpayers use the new, high “standard deduction” and can’t take advantage of itemizing their charitable gifts. Using your RMDs could be much more tax advantaged for you.
Your Generosity is Appreciated
We trust these ideas may allow you to have a substantial impact supporting Texas Values’ mission to protect life, marriage and family, and religious freedom for generations to come. However you choose to partner with us, we greatly appreciate your generosity in supporting us!
