VICTORY! Governor Abbott Signs SB 10 Texas Ten Commandments Bill Into Law

Austin, TX – June 21, 2025: Today, Governor Greg Abbott signed into law the Texas Ten Commandments Bill (SB 10) by Senator Phil King and Representative Candy Noble, to allow the display of the Ten Commandments in Texas public schools. SB 10 will go into effect September 1, 2025.
Jonathan Saenz, President and Attorney for Texas Values, released the following statement:
“This is a Texas-sized blessing that the Ten Commandments will now be displayed for students to see, much like the Ten Commandments Monument at the Texas Capitol and in the U. S. Supreme Court. Just like twenty years ago when he protected the Ten Commandments at the U. S. Supreme Court, Governor Abbott “fulfilled the law” by signing SB 10 today, making it clear that there will be a Ten Commandments displayed in every Texas public school classroom.”
Yesterday, Governor Abbott also signed Texas Values religious freedom priority bills SB 11 and SB 965 to protect religious freedom. SB 11 and SB 965 jointly put in place requirements for a voluntary time for public school students to pray or read the Bible on school grounds.
Texas Values stands shoulder to shoulder with partner organizations such as First Liberty Institute prepared to defend SB 10 against any court challenges brought against it.
