Texas Values Condemns Beto’s Attack on Christian Churches, Ministries, and Schools

Austin, Texas – Texas Values strongly condemns Former Rep. Robert O’Rourke’s comments from last night’s CNN Town Hall when he was asked “Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches, charities, should they lose their tax-exempt status if they oppose same sex marriage?” “Yes,” the former Congressman responded, “There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break, for anyone, or any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us.”

Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values said “Beto and some democrats have declared war on churches. We say come and take it. This unconstitutional threat of using the government to punish churches for their Biblical beliefs on marriage must end and will be vigorously opposed. This is just another example of leftists that want to effectively ban the Bible and destroy our US Constitution.”
