President Trump Declares Churches “Essential”, Time to Reopen

Austin, Texas – The following statement may be attributed to Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values, the largest statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to standing for faith, family, and freedom in Texas. President Donald Trump announced today that churches were “essential places that provide essential services” alongside the release of guidance for reopening faith organizations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Churches have always been essential in the eyes of believers, and we applaud President Trump for his leadership today declaring churches essential in the eyes of the government. This federal focus on freedom matches what has previously been declared in Texas by Gov. Abbott and hopefully removes any confusion for local leaders trying to harass and punish churches for reopening. If bars can now open in Texas, surely churches can be open as well.”
