New York Abortion Group Challenges Texas Informed Consent Law: Court Hearing But No Decision

A New York abortion group, Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit against a new Texas informed consent law including sonograms before abortions.  The abortion group was granted a hearing today on their motion to stop the enforcement of the law.  The court did not rule on the motion and granted both side additional time to submit evidence and additional briefing on the issues.  The Texas Attorney General’s office is defending the informed consent statute.
