Breaking! U.S. Department of Education Designates June as Title IX Month

Washington, D.C., TX – June 2, 2025: The United States Department of Education has designated June as “Title IX” month in recognition of the 53rd Anniversary of the law which protects women’s sports and education opportunities. This designation is to counter Pride month which is often celebrated in June, sometimes in public schools. You may recall that the previous presidential administration attempted to rewrite Title IX by redefining “sex”. Texas recently passed a law that is headed to the governor’s desk, House Bill 229 by Representative Ellen Troxclair, that accurately defines “male” and “female” known as the “Texas Women’s Bill of Rights”. H.B. 229 aims to protect women’s spaces, opportunities, and sex-based rights which were provided under Title IX.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:

“I am pleased that the new presidential administration is taking Title IX seriously and recognizing the gains women have made in sports and education due to its protection. Texas has taken the attack on Title IX in the past couple of years very seriously by defending Carroll ISD in court for their Title IX compliant school policies and now passing key legislation to make sure women in our state can never be erased again. We are happy about the newly designated “Title IX” month and the Texas Women’s Bill of Rights that will be signed by the Texas governor soon”.
