Save Women’s Sports Bill Crosses Finish Line

The House concurred on the Save Women’s Sports bill (H.B. 25) with a 76-61 vote. Texas State Representative Valoree Swanson filed H.B. 25 to level the playing field and keep biological boys from competing in girl’s sports. Now H.B. 25 is headed to Governor Abbott’s desk.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Senior Policy Advisor for Texas Values released the following statement:

“We are excited that the Save Women’s Sports bill has finally passed the finish line after four sessions. We are protecting a girls’ right to be a champion and not a spectator in her own sport.”

Nationally, 37 states have proposed similar bills and 8 have signed it into law– most recently in Florida.
