Are you tired of us telling you about how there have been men in the women’s restrooms and locker rooms?

Come to the Texas Capitol today, Thursday, April 3 to support the Texas Women’s Privacy Act SB 240 in the Senate Committee on State Affairs beginning at 9 a.m.
The Texas Women’s Privacy Act SB 240 by Senator Mayes Middleton protects women in their most vulnerable spaces that are intended to be separated based on sex (restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and more). The companion bill HB 239 by Representative Valoree Swanson has 78 Texas House members who have already signed on indicating their support of the bill. This means we already have a majority of the House members and enough votes to pass the bill once it gets to the Texas House. Key women leaders like former college athletes Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan have shown support for this legislation. In his first few days of office, President Donald Trump even declared that the federal government only recognizes 2 sexes: male and female.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BILL AND HEARING OF THE ENTIRE SESSION AND WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO SHOW UP!!!
Our team has been at the Capitol since 7:30 a.m. to assist you and we encourage you to come early as well!
We need as many people in the state of Texas, especially all women and girls to come to the Capitol TODAY, Thursday, to testify in favor of this bill and also to sign up in favor of the bill which you can only do at the Capitol on the Capitol system. Our team will be providing stickers, talking points for testimony, signs, and more. If you cannot stay the entire day, please register in favor of SB 240. To show support remotely, please email mcastle@txvalues.org for instructions on how to do so. However, this is a hearing that we believe you should come to in person if you can only make one trip to Austin. If you work or live close to the Texas Capitol, it will only take a few minutes for you to stop by on the second floor and sign up in favor of the bill.
**Megan Benton from our team will be at the Capitol today, so look for her if you need help.
Megan Benton, Texas Values Strategic Policy Associate is available to assist you with registration and will have talking points and other information regarding the bill.
Don’t forget to sign our petition. |
