Alert! Senate Committee Considers Bill to Prevent Sex Change on Birth Certificates

Planned Parenthood is Planning Heavy Opposition THIS Monday, March 10!

The Texas Senate Committee on State Affairs will have a public hearing on SB 406 by Senator Mayes Middleton which would prohibit an individual from changing their “sex” on their birth certificate.

This bill would prevent men invading women’s spaces and other problems that we see when individuals claim to be a gender that is not their biological sex at birth.

If you live in or near Austin, please come to Senate State Affairs Monday March 10, at 9a.m. to testify in favor of SB 406 by Senator Mayes Middleton.

If you cannot come to Austin, please email the Senate State Affairs clerk Victoria Ross and express your support of this bill.

Planned Parenthood, who spent decades taking the lives of preborn babies, is planning a big showing in opposition to this bill. As you may be aware, sex change operations and procedures have become a major focus of Planned Parenthood since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Planned Parenthood activists are telling their supporters to show up in large numbers.

As a reminder, Texas Values has prioritized legislation to protect women in their private spaces and to define “male” and “female” in state law. The Texas Woman’s Privacy Act (HB 239, SB 240) has been referred to the State Affairs committees in both the House and the Senate and are awaiting a hearing. The What is a Woman Act HB 229 has also been referred to the House State Affairs Committee.

Government belongs to those who show up! Please show support for this common-sense legislation.
