Victory! Child Sex-Change Doctor Gives Up License, Thanks to Texas Law Protecting Kids

Austin, TX – Recently, a Texas doctor who performed sex-change operations and procedures on children surrendered her Texas medical license and left Texas. Dr. May Lau was sued last year by the Texas Attorney General for violating a Texas law passed in 2023 that bans sex changes for minors, SB 14.
Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations said:
“I am pleased to see that the Ban on Childhood Gender Modification is working as planned. No child should have their futures or bodies ruined by cross sex hormones or the cutting off of healthy body parts. If these doctors do not want to follow the law, then they should not be doctors. Texas will continue to fight for children to protect the bodies and image God has given them.“
Dr. Lau surrendering her license is another example of the law to stop childhood gender modification being effective. After the law was passed in 2023, many other doctors were reported to leave Texas because they wanted to continue to give kids cross-sex hormones and remove healthy body parts. One of those doctors who left was Dr. Ximena Lopez who testified at the Texas Capitol in 2021 about the procedures she gave children.
