Victory: Biden Administration Attempt to Force Abortion on Texas Fails
Washington D.C. — October 7, 2024: Today, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a case involving the Biden Administration’s attempt to use the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) to force Texas hospitals and doctors to provide abortions.
Jonathan Saenz, President and Attorney for Texas Values released the following statement:
“In Texas, we love them both, the mother and the child. The Supreme Court’s decision confirms that Texas has been following current federal and state law, which already provides for the health and safety of both women and children in these circumstances. And that’s why, in over two years, since Roe v. Wade was overturned, thankfully, not one single woman has died in the State of Texas as a result of denial of medical care connected to an abortion.”
