Hobby Lobby Supreme Court Decision a Victory for Religious Liberty
Texas Values president and attorney Jonathan Saenz released the following statement praising the decision: “This is a historic victory for religious freedom and it breathes restored life into the First Amendment. Religious freedom is our most foundational freedom, protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. President Obama’s HHS Mandate empowers the government to force private business owners to violate their religious beliefs as a price of doing business and the high court rightly struck this down.” Read more. |

Update on TXDOT Ten Commandment Ban One person standing up for their religious liberty and free speech rights can make a difference! TXDOT has admitted that their ban of a Ten Commandments sign on Hemphill, TX resident Jeanette Golden’s private property is “problematic constitutionally” after our friends at Liberty Institute sent a demand letter to TXDOT explaining that the ban violates Mrs. Golden’s right to freedom of religious expression. TXDOT is considering a new rule that should allow the Ten Commandments sign to stay. Read more. |
