After almost a week of outcry on this, Christmas (and Rosh Hashanah) appear to be staying in social studies.  SBOE chairman, Gail Lowe, indicated that no one on the SBOE had no intention to go along with the proposal to remove Christmas from the current social studies curriculum for all 6th grade students.  The review committee that removed Christmas also acknowledge their mistake and their representative even admitted that her own mother had called her after hearing about our report of the Christmas removal and wanted to know why this was happening.

We’ll continue monitoring this situation, though, to make sure the official document submitted in October does show that Christmas and Rosh Hashanah have been restored.
