Texas State Representative Valoree Swanson Announces 77 Co-authors for SB23: #SaveWomensSports

For Immediate Release

Austin, TX – March 1, 2023: Yesterday, Texas State Representative Valoree Swanson announced majority support for HB 23. Seventy-seven co-authors have signed onto the #SaveWomensSports bill that would keep men out of women’s sports. We thank these courageous lawmakers for their stand.

Rep. Swanson stated:

“I am proud to announce that, once again, my colleagues in the Legislature are standing with me to protect fairness in women’s sports!” Rep. Swanson said. “Women have fought tooth-and-nail to enshrine their right to equal opportunity in high school and college sports. We must not lose ground and allow biological males to endanger the safety and advancement opportunities for young women in college and in UIL sports. My colleagues and I will fight for our young athletes.”

Texas Values is the leading organization on the issue of saving women’s sports in Texas. Additionally, on March 13, 2023, Texas Values will host Faith and Family Day at the Capitol. This event will feature Riley Gaines, the award-winning swimmer who competed against Lia Thomas, and is now a leading advocate in the #SaveWomensSports movement.
