Take Action! Call Speaker Burrows and Members to Thank Them for Doing their Job

We are nearing the end of the First Called Texas Special Session and our Texas Women’s Privacy Act (SB 7) is successfully moving forward. The Texas Women’s Privacy Act makes it clear that men and boys cannot be in women and girls showers, locker rooms and bathrooms on government and taxpayer funded property; and local government officials must enforce such rules in places like public schools, prisons, and women’s shelters. More information and details about SB 7 can be found here: protectwomensprivacytexas.com

However, we need a quorum in the Texas House in order for SB 7, the Texas Women’s Privacy Act to pass in the Texas House and head to the Governor’s desk to become law in the state of Texas!

Yesterday, the Texas House was 4 members shy of making a quorum. Many of your Texas House members have been diligently coming to the Texas floor every day during the Special Session. Speaker Burrows has placed additional penalties and enforcement procedures in place to bring Texas House members back.

We have enough time to pass the Texas Women’s Privacy Act this session!

Contact your Texas House member and thank your member for showing up during the Special Session. Let your Texas House member know that as soon as the Texas House makes quorum, you want the Texas House to pass The Texas Women’s Privacy Act.

You can contact your member by finding who represents you here.

Also, thank Speaker Dustin Burrows for being decisive and assertive in his approach to rally members back to Austin to do the job they were elected to do. Let him know also that once the Texas House reaches quorum, you would like to see the Texas House pass the Texas Women’s Privacy Act. You can call (512) 463-1000 or send a positive message to house.texas.gov/members/3055/email
