#SaveChickfilA Day Round Up

In case you missed it before the weekend and since it happened at 4 am, we wanted to bring you up to speed. The Texas Values and Texas Values Action team was hard at work late into the night and the following morning for Save Chick-fil-A Day and an important legislative committee hearing on two religious freedom bills and one bad ban the Bible bill. After having a Facebook Live event with dozens of supporters and faith or community leaders, meeting with the Lt Governor, another Facebook Live with Ted Cruz and waiting all day, House State Affairs Committee testimony was finally heard on bills to protect religious freedom just after 3 am. Those bills are HB 1035, the “Free To Believe Act” by Rep. Bill Zedler; and HB 3172 (also known as the “Chick-fil-A bill”) authored by Rep. Matt Krause. Texas Values staff, allies, and friends testified for close to 4 hours on these bills and didn’t leave the Capitol until after sunrise. Watch below some of the incredible testimony our friends gave to protect religious freedom in Texas.  Go to SaveChickfilA.com for more details and to take action!
