Press Release: Texas Values to Stand for Biological Definition of Boys and Girls at Texas Public School in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, TX – June 27, 2023: The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) board is currently under pressure from LGBT activists who are demanding that girls identifying as boys be allowed in the all-boys choir, and vice versa. Texas Values will hold a Press Conference at 5:15 P.M. in front of Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA). The FWAFA June 27th board meeting will begin at 6 PM and Texas Values policy team members will speak to the board.
Statement by Jonathan Covey, Director of Policy for Texas Values:
“The boys and girls choirs at FWAFA have always been separate. Allowing radical transgender ideology to reduce opportunities for male and female students and discriminate against the religious beliefs of parents is a bad move and an even worse precedent. Focus on your mission of training young minds in academics and fine arts, and stop politicizing the classroom.”
The most recent board meeting in May was highly contentious with dozens of LGBT activists showing up to testify and pressure board members into allowing the definition of “boys” and “girls” to include sexual orientation and gender identity. The board postponed their decision until the June 27th meeting.
