Planned Parenthood defunded from WHP, Activists Lash Out

In response to the state of Texas enforcing its own law, the Obama Administration threatened to shut down the Women’s Health Program (WHP) and it is preparing to halt all federal funding for the program (the federal government had matched $9 for every $1 the state spent on the program).   This is despite the fact that Planned Parenthood clinics only account for 2% of the program’s 2,500 plus providers, leaving plenty of Federally Qualified Health Centers around that state that can meet the needs of poor and uninsured women.  Despite the action of the Obama Administration, Governor Perry has stated that the state will continue the WHP using state funds, allowing the state to run the program without using tax dollars to send women to abortion affiliated providers.

It is abundantly clear that the Obama Administration simply values politics (and propping up the abortion industry with tax dollars) over looking after the best interest of women.  As we have seen with Obamacare’s Abortifacient and Contraception mandate, Obama is also willing to sacrifice the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberty as well.  But this hasn’t kept the liberal media from sympathizing with the Administration. And it certainly has not kept Planned Parenthood and other leftwing activists groups from trying to scare women and trying to create the laughable narrative that Governor Perry is to blame for the Obama Administration choosing to cut the WHP’s funding.

In a clear sign of their desperation, Planned Parenthood has been organizing a bus tour around the state to try to keep perpetuating this false media narrative.  Yesterday, they stopped at the state Capitol and a few dozen rallied with many vicious signs, including signs comparing Texas to the Taliban and claiming 130,000 women were going to die of cancer.

So let me get this straight, in the last few weeks the Obama administration has directly attacked our religious freedoms by forcing religious institutions to provide abortifacient and contraception coverage against their conscience and is now targeting Texas for seeking to enforce its own law (overwhelmingly supported by Texans and Americans) that no tax dollars go to abortion providers, but somehow it’s Governor Perry and other state leaders that we need to fear?

You know your side is winning when the other side has to resort to these types of desperate measures.
