Breaking! Over 600 Ten Commandments Posters Donated to Copperas Cove ISD
Copperas Cove, TX. – August 12, 2026: Today, Texas Values donated 640 Ten Commandments posters to Copperas Cove ISD to ensure displays in every district classroom in accordance with the Texas Ten Commandments Law (S.B. 10). See our press conference announcing the donation here.
Jonathan Covey, Policy Director for Texas Values, released the following statement:
“The Ten Commandments helped shape the moral and legal foundation of our nation, and we’re proud to help ensure that history is displayed to the next generation. Students in Copperas Cove ISD deserve to know the principles and ideas that helped shape the country they will one day inherit.”
In April 2026, the Fifth Circuit ruled that S.B. 10 is constitutional and may be enforced. The court concluded that the law does not resemble a historical religious establishment and does not compel students to engage in religious worship, prayer, or recitation.
In June 2026, Texas Values distributed a legal guidance letter to all Texas public school districts regarding compliance with S.B. 10, the Texas Ten Commandments law to provide school administrators with answers to common questions regarding compliance, implementation timelines, legal protections, and the proper display of qualifying Ten Commandments posters in classrooms. The letter informs school districts that Texas Values stands ready to assist schools seeking to comply with the law and can help facilitate donated posters where needed.
In addition to the Fifth Circuit ruling in April, last week, a Harris County district court denied a request for a temporary restraining order seeking to block enforcement of Texas’ Ten Commandments law, S.B. 10 on a new legal theory based on state law that challenged the implementation of the statute.
