Kelly Shackelford: Stand For Texas Values

As a proud Texan, you care deeply about the issues of faith, family, and freedom in our state.  These are Texas values.  We believe they are the most important Texas values.

But because of the growing hostility to religious freedom throughout our nation, Liberty Institute’s religious freedom expertise is being called on like never before. After much prayer, the leadership of Liberty Institute, along with the Board, made the incredibly important decision that we would now solely focus our full-time efforts to defend and restore religious liberty in America.

You may be wondering what will happen to our state focused efforts throughout Texas?

I believe Texas needs a renewed effort to fight for our values. That’s why we also made the decision to continue our state-focused work through a new effort that will focus just on Texas. And we’re calling this new effort Texas Values!

Now, Liberty can aggressively grow to become the premier go-to legal group in the nation for religious freedom issues. And Texas Values has the vision to build on our rich legacy to become the leading voice in Texas that understands and fights for Texas values.

So here’s the new face of faith, family, and freedom in the lone star state, Texas Values!

Even though Texas Values is a new name, its history and legacy are both deeply tied to the forty-year work of Liberty Institute protecting freedoms and strengthening families. This important work will be carried on by Liberty Institute veteran, Jonathan Saenz, who’s served Liberty Institute as both an attorney and legislative director since 2005.

As Texans, we are blessed to live in this great state. But with this blessing comes an important responsibility to continue to lead on important issues of faith, family, and freedom.  I know Jonathan is a man who has the strength, resolve, and commitment to lead Texas Values.

Thanks to Jonathan and Texas Values, and with the help of faithful Texans like you, I believe together we can preserve marriage as between one man and one woman. Together we can defend a culture of life. And together we can lead the way in protecting our religious freedom from groups like the ACLU and Texas Freedom Network, from out-of-control politicians, and from unelected government bureaucrats.

I urge you to join with Jonathan and Texas Values to support the work they are doing for you and your family throughout Texas. They are dedicated to preserving and advancing a culture of family values in our state by standing for biblical, Judeo-Christian values.  They will make your voice heard on important family values issues in the public square, in the media, and throughout Texas at all levels of government.
