The continued lie and distortion about Thomas Jefferson has gone on for too long and we have done countless media interviews and an article pointing out how prominent a place Thomas Jefferson has in our Texas Social Studies standards, yet Austin liberals, the Texas Freedom Network, the ACLU and people from California and New York continue to mislead people. I saw a guy today at the Capitol at the AMERICAN ATHEISTS rally with a “Missing” sign, with a picture of Thomas Jefferson. I asked him if knew that Thomas Jefferson is in Grade 5, Grade 8, U.S. Government, etc. and he admitted he hadn’t read the TEKS standards. Sad and ridiculous.

Thomas Jefferson was the main author of the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence is referenced at least 26 times throughout the K-12 Social Studies standards.
