Gov. Abbott, Abby Johnson to Headline Pro-Life Rally in Texas

We solemnly note that today marks the 48th anniversary when murdering unborn babies became legal in the United States with the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, a court case that started in Texas. Due to this horrendous decision, Texas abortionists take the life of approximately 144 unborn children every day.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Policy Advisor for Texas Values, reflected that “After a year where so many lives were lost, we celebrate the hope of a new generation. But we cannot have a new generation if we do not protect the life of every baby – from every walk of life— in the womb.”

“Life is precious and life is essential. Women have so many loving choices and options instead of abortion. People all over Texas are ready to provide support and care for mothers and babies at the numerous pregnancy care centers,” said Jonathan Saenz, President and Attorney of Texas Values.

Gov. Greg Abbott, and former abortion clinic worker Abby Johnson will be participating in the Texas Rally for Life along with Texas Values, on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

The Texas Values team has a legacy of helping lead efforts to pass pro-life laws in Texas, specifically helping pass a pro-life law in each of the past four state legislative sessions. Texas Values is determined to help pass new pro-life laws in the 2021 Texas legislative session as well.

President Joe Biden has already shown his intention to impose abortion policies on Americans to kill the unborn. Some of these policies include dropping his support for the Hyde Amendment, a policy restricting federal funding for abortions, and seeking to repeal the Mexico City Policy which prohibits nongovernmental organizations from promoting abortion.

This past year Texas Values claimed many victories for life including helping save an estimated 1,800 babies’ from abortion and submitting a legal amicus brief to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. We will continue pursuing victories in 2021 for the unborn.

Tomorrow, January 23, from 2pm – 4pm, Texas Values will be co-hosting the Texas Rally for Life along with other organizations to demonstrate our support for the unborn. Due to Covid-19 the rally will both be online and through a LIFE caravan at the Texas Capitol.
