Correction: Contraception Bill Undermining Parental Rights is Weakened, then Passed In Senate

SB 592, by Sen. Van de Putte, was up for a vote today in the Senate.  Would reduce the consent age from 18 to 16 for a girl to consent for contraception if she has already given birth to a child and she is unmarried.  She passed the bill on second reading.  She then withdrew her bill for third reading after realizing she likely did not have the votes at this time to pass for second and third reading on the same day.  Sen. Patrick successfully amended her bill to require parent notice if the girl still lives at home.
