Chick-fil-A Standing Up for Marriage and Family
Chick-fil-A has come under fire for some comments made to the Baptist Press by its President Dan Cathy. Here are the “offensive” and “hate-filled” remarks that has gay groups and several liberal mayors up in arms:
“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
“We operate as a family business … our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that,” Cathy emphasized.
That’s right, radical Gay groups and the media want us to be upset because Chick-fil-A’s president supports traditional marriage and strengthening families. Mayors of Boston and Chicago have even gone public saying Chick-fil-A is not welcome in their cities.
Chick-fil-A’s values are mainstream American and Texas Values and have been affirmed by 31 of 31 states that have put the traditional marriage issue to voters, including over 76% of voters in Texas. As our own Jonathan Saenz stated in his interview on Fox 7 on this issue – What’s next, are Boston and Chicago going to start banning churches because they support traditional marriage too?

We believe Chick-fil-A should be commended for its principled stand in support of traditional marriage and for their long history of treating all customers and employees with respect and dignity. We join with Mike Huckabee in supporting the Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day next week on Wednesday, August 1st. Join with the over 200,000 others that have have already RSVP at IsupportChickfilA.com
