Carroll ISD and Parents Rally to Protect Texas Girls in Biden Title IX Lawsuit

Southlake, Texas — June 24, 2024: Today, the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees are hosting a special meeting at 5p.m. to discuss their lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s Department of Education new Title IX rule that redefines “sex” as gender identity. Texas Values will be hosting a press conference and rally with members of the Texas legislature, grassroots, parents, female athletes, and community members at 4 p.m., before the meeting, to show their support for Carroll ISD protecting the rights and privacy of girls in Texas.

Carroll ISD, which is represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s Department of Education on May 21. The lawsuit focuses on how the new Title IX rule will negatively affect women’s privacy and sports opportunities and threaten the religious speech of all students and faculty. At the meeting, the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees will explain why they oppose the new federal rule that creates conflicts with recent Texas laws that had bipartisan support were signed by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:

“D.C. values are not Texas Values and Carroll ISD has made this loud and clear by standing up to the Biden Administration’s ridiculous re-write of Title IX. Many courts have already ruled against Biden’s Title IX and it must be stopped! Tonight we will make it clear that you don’t mess with Texas girls”.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment on the lawsuit at the Carroll ISD School board tonight. Texas Values law and policy team will be present to provide comment. Email Ashley at media@txvalues.org or call/text 737-314-2450 to schedule an interview.
