Texas Judge Expands Protections For Texas Women and Girls

Austin, TX – August 16, 2024: After a victorious injunction was issued on the new Title IX rule in Texas last month, a federal judge in Texas has clarified and expanded the injunction to stop the Department of Education from any future action that would force “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” special protection laws on Texas schools.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:

“We have made it clear in Texas that we will do everything to protect women’s sports, private spaces, and educational opportunities as Title IX originally intended. Today’s court ruling will make sure that the Biden-Harris administration surrenders in their war on women in Texas”.

Earlier this summer, Carroll ISD won their lawsuit against the new Title IX re-write, keeping students in their school district safe. Following that court victory, a federal judge issued an injunction for the entire state of Texas against the Title IX Guidance documents.
