Texas Passes Ban on Drag Queen Shows in Front of Kids 

The Ban on Drag Queen Shows for Kids Bill, SB 12, passed the Texas Legislature and was signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott on June 18, 2023. This new law, effective as of March 18, 2026, allows authority to regulate sexually oriented performances and restricts those performances on the premises of a commercial enterprise, on public property, or in the presence of an individual younger than 18 years of age; authorizing a civil penalty; creating a criminal offense.
