The Texas Ten Commandments Law & Project

The Texas Ten Commandments Bill, SB 10, passed the Texas Legislature during the 89th Regular Legislative Session in 2025 and was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in June 21st of the same year. The law will go into effect September 1, 2025. Every public school classroom will be required to display a Ten Commandments poster or framed copy and each school district must accept conforming posters or framed copies that are privately donated. Texas Values is leading an initiative called “The Texas Ten Project” to support volunteers in placing as many copies of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms as possible.
