Special Protection, Bathroom Rights for Transgendered Signed by Newly Elected Houston Gay Mayor

The newly elected Mayor of Houston, Annise Parker, who is openly gay, has now signed two executive orders to extend special rights to transgender persons, specifically for their so-called “gender identity” or “gender expression”  this basically amounts to their opinion of that person on if they feel they are male or female.

According the Houston Chronicle article, the executive orders “allow transgendered individuals to use restroom facilities in city-owned buildings for the gender with which they identify. For example, a person who identifies as a woman but who is biologically male may now use the women’s restroom.”

The Executive Orders also prohibits “inappropriate…words, objects, or symbols’…”that are commonly understood”…”to convey contempt” in regards to someone’s gender identity.
