Hearing Needed: SB 619, Religious Freedom for Healthcare Providers

A top priority bill, SB 619, sponsored by Rep. Tom Oliverson, ensuring religious freedom for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers has successfully passed out of the Texas Senate and is now sitting in the House Public Health Committee waiting for a hearing. The committee meets on Mondays, so we have asked Chair VanDeaver for a hearing this coming Monday, May 12th in order to have enough time to for the bill to reach the House floor.

We need you to politely ask Chair VanDeaver for a hearing on SB 619 next Monday, May 12th.

Please call Chair VanDeaver’s Capitol office at (512) 463-0692 and tell staff you would like to see SB 619 on the May 12th hearing list.

The freedom to live and work consistent with one’s conscience is at the heart of what motivates many who enter the medical field. By protecting conscience rights of healthcare providers, we are actually protecting the quality of care available to families.

Because no one wants a doctor or nurse without a conscience.

You can also politely email the committee clerk’s office at:
