Breaking! Texas Senate Passes Texas Women’s Privacy Act

Austin, TX – August 6, 2025: Today, the Texas Senate voted 19-2 on The Texas Women’s Privacy Act, Senate Bill 7, authored by Senator Mayes Middleton and Senator Lois Kolkhorst. The Texas Women’s Privacy Act ensures that women are protected in their sex separated spaces by making sure that each person enters the locker room, shower, prison, etc. based on their biological sex.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:

“The time is now to protect women in their guaranteed sex-separated spaces. I am pleased the Senate is acting swiftly and I expect the House to do their job and, once and for all, protect Texas Women. I thank Senator Middleton and Senator Kolkhorst for keeping up the fight all these years and Lt. Governor Patrick for leading on this issue.”

Texas House Representative Valoree Swanson’s identical bill in the House, HB 32, has 81 authors in the Texas House, enough support to pass in the Texas House.
