Breaking! Texas Governor Greg Abbott to State Agencies: “There are Only 2 Sexes”

Austin, TX – January 30, 2025: Today, Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter to Texas state agencies directing them to recognize there are only two sexes: male and female. In the letter, the Governor asks all Texas agencies to ensure agency rules, internal policies, employment practices and other actions comply with “the law and biological reality that there are only two sexes – male and female”. The letter specifically references the Department of Public Safety and the Department of State Health Services and the issue of changing a person’s ‘sex’ on their driver’s license. Read letter here.

Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values, said:

“Today’s letter to state agencies reinforcing reality that there are only 2 sexes is a huge win for women who have had their sports, privacy and opportunities stolen by men claiming to be women. I am looking forward to the state legislature working on legislation that will defend and define the definition of woman and to protect private spaces appropriately separated based on sex, in state law.”

Governor Abbott’s letter comes a week after President Donald Trump issued an Executive Order recognizing that there are only 2 sexes.
