Exciting Events and Remembering the #Stand4Life

Texas Values will be participating in some exciting upcoming events where you can learn more about making an impact for faith, family, and freedom in the great state of Texas. Next Tuesday, July 22, please join us at the Life, Liberty, and Property Tour event in The Woodlands for a no-holds-barred Town Hall meeting. The event is being put together by some of our conservative friends, including Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Texas Right to Life, Grassroots America We The People, Texas Eagle Forum, and the Texas Homeschool Coalition. The event will share the truth about what happens in the Texas Legislature and how you can get involved to impact Texas. And on Monday, August 4th, Texas Values president Jonathan Saenz will be speaking with the Pflugerville Republican Club. Please join us at these events:

Around the country an out of control and activist federal government and judiciary is engaged in a massive state-by-state effort to redefine marriage. These radical efforts threaten the rule of law and Texans’ fundamental right to self-governance. Further, those seeking to redefine marriage want to force everyone to celebrate the homosexual lifestyle and seek to trample the religious liberty rights of individuals, businesses, and churches. Texas Values is currently working on an Amicus Brief on this issue in the defense of Texas’ Marriage Laws that will be filed in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The court is expected to hear oral arguments on this case later this year.

One Year Ago…The #Stand4Life

Exactly one year ago this week, Governor Rick Perry signed the historic Pro-Life Omnibus Law, HB 2, into law. The law bans late-term abortion at five months of pregnancy and increased the health and safety standards at abortion clinics. We thank the thousands of Texas pro-lifers that came to Austin to stand for life, and we praise God for the lives that are being saved, the abortion-mills that are being closed, and that the culture of live is thriving in Texas!
