Video: Highlights of Faith, Family, & Freedom Gala

Earlier this month, over 350 guests joined Texas Values for our first-ever Faith, Family, & Freedom Gala. There were numerous highlights, including Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his wife Angela Paxton who beautifully sang the Star – Spangled Banner. General Paxton was honored by Texas Values with the 2015 Faithful Leader Award for his tremendous leadership in defending religious freedom, marriage, and life throughout Texas. Another major highlight of the night was the announcement of the first-ever Kelly Shackelford Award. Liberty Institute President and founding Texas Values Board Member Kelly Shackelford was featured at the event with the award being named in his honor. The inaugural Kelly Shackelford Award was given to Jared Woodfill. Jared has been our lead volunteer attorney on several cases this year and was an instrumental voice in Houston that helped lead to the defeat of the bathroom ordinance.

The keynote address of the night was Jason and David Benham – twin brothers, raised in Texas, and Christian entrepreneurs who were fired by HGTV for standing for biblical beliefs in marriage and life. The Benham Brothers shared their epic story of boldly standing against the politically correct culture, and how God taught them to focus on the person of Jesus Christ, not the platform they had been given. They definitely inspired each attendee to courageously stand in their faith.

We are so thankful for our supporters, volunteers, board members, and table hosts that were a part of making the Texas Faith, Family, & Freedom Gala an event to remember.
